点评：Avoid if you expect anything other than gouging!
The grounds are relatively well kept despite the amateurish appearance. The old house is a derelict ruin having burned down in 1976. They're working on restoring as is apparent by some scaffolding. If this is what has been achieved in the nearly 60 years since, one would assume that by the year 2625 they will be close to completion.
And maybe by the year 2625, a price of €6.30 for a doughnut will be justified.
But this year, it isn't.
How Brambles cafe got a contract anywhere is beyond comprehension. Awful food. Crazy prices.
By all means visit. But bring food. Bring water. Do not give these fools money.
Some day soon we will find out why every OPW house or garden has a Brambles Cafe, and of course there will be a review of the Tender Process.
But for now. Bring your own food!!
