点评:I visited Fighter's Heaven on a Saturday afternoon in August. The first thing you need to know is that you do not have to be a boxing fan to enjoy Muhammad Ali's training camp; it's a bit of American culture and history that's as interesting as it is fun.
There's a brief guided walking tour on the half hour, which I recommend. Mick, our guide, explained the history of the camp, pointed out some highlights, told us some stories, and explained that we could walk around and stay as long as we wanted.
The buildings have been beautifully restored and interiors of several have been recreated. There are short video clips and lots of memorabilia and photos. One of the best parts about the camp is that it's interactive in the sense that you can step into the ring, ring the bell, work the water pump, and recreate some of the iconic photos taken of Ali in his cabin and locker room. It was such an authentic experience that I expected Muhammad Ali to walk in the door any minute.
Muhammad Ali is an inspirational man who lived his principles. Everyone could benefit from a visit to Fighter's Heaven. Thanks for preserving this important place!
