When we decided to go to Sri Lanka, I started looking for a local tour company on the internet. We looked at the websites of many tour companies and compared their prices and the content of the tours they offered us.
Then we read the 15-day tour program of Magical Paradise which was suitable for us. I contacted the company manager Kalika and we started corresponding via Whatsapp.
He was very knowledgeable, respectful and helpful.
When we arrived in Sri Lanka, he welcomed us very warmly at the airport. Before taking us to our hotel, he helped us get a local sim card. Since we did not have Sri Lankan Rupees with us, he got a sim card for us.
He also fulfilled all our requests quickly throughout the tour.
However, Jay was our guide and driver during the two-week tour.
This was a great chance for us because Jay was not only a good guide and a good driver, but also a very good person and friend.
He was very knowledgeable about the places he showed us.
When we were attacked by bees at the Nine Arch Bridge, he did his best to protect us, but the bees did not forgive him and stung us on the head.
He waited for us until we got on the train in Nuwara Eliya and was the first to greet us when we arrived there.
Everywhere we went, he immediately rushed to help when he sensed that people or animals were in need.
It was great to have a guide and friend who felt such love and responsibility towards not only people but also animals and nature.
We were very touched by his search for water for the dog that was stranded in Pidurangala and his manual collection and transportation of the garbage there.
He did his best to ensure our safety and comfort throughout the tour.
We loved Sri Lanka and its people. Jay's contribution to this was huge.
We left our friends behind on this beautiful island, but we will always keep them in our hearts.
