Good racing, horrible hospitality.

点评：The racing was good which is why the review gets 2 stars. The catering options were dreadful. We ate in Cleverley's restaurant upstairs, £15 for a main course, I had meat pie and chips, it was OK, a bit overpriced for what it was, £10 would have been fairer. The glass of Merlot I ordered, in excess of £8 was barely drinkable and clearly had been open for far too long. I was seated next to a window overlooking the Westwood, the window was filthy and the sill was covered in grit, cobwebs and what looked suspiciously like mouse droppings, ugh! Service was very slow, they were having technical issues. Nobody came to check on us, they clearly knew the response they'd get.
Downstairs in the bar which again was pretty grubby I ordered a glass of white wine, this time around £7. Filthy stuff, possibly the worst I've had for years, it was clearly some sort of battery acid and I'm amazed that I have any enamel left on my teeth. On a positive the women's toilets were clean and functioned well.
All in all a grim experience food and beverage wise. This place could and should be so much better.
