So disappointing after such high hopes.
Northwood Trail – England’s Fairy Sanctuary的点评
点评：My 4 year old granddaughter, dressed as a fairy, and 4 adults set off with great excitement to find some fairies, but we were so disappointed.
Positives:
The first fairy house had lots of silver coins outside, which we decided must be the tooth fairy's house. A good start.
There were twinkly lights too, but only on some of the walk.
Negatives.
The walk started by looking at the very scary, wicked Ice Queen's shed, then we went over the very scary troll's bridge. Next there were some giant, (4 or 5 foot) hands luring people in. The final straw for our 4 years old, was the giant dragons' nests. She was terrified and wanted to go home. If only this section had been separate from the fairy village. I feel so angry that a little 4 year old girl should have been so frightened and have her enjoyment spoilt.
The houses were very tired. As they're not painted, the doors just look like twigs stuck to trees. The whole thing needs painting and renovating. It would help to have things such as some opening doors so children can peep inside, dolls house style. Or even having a child sized fairy house to play in.
There are no fairies or evidence of fairies anywhere. Why not put little faces in windows, washing lines with fairy clothes, fairies climbing trees, tiny shoes or other props? It would avoid the repetitiveness of only having yet another door to look at.
The mermaid fairies which we were looking forward to seeing, were just pots with no realism as far as we could see because they had fallen over in the water. All that could be seen was a lump of broken pottery.
Why call it a fairy walk and fairy village when non can be seen other than the dead fairies in glass jars in the museum at the end?
The whole experience was summed up by our 4 year old when she said with a very frightened look, " We won't be coming back here again will we? " When told that we wouldn't be coming back, she needed further reassurance by saying, "Not ever? " Such a shame.
