A wonderfully peaceful cable car ride to Kreuzboden

点评：The cable car runs from Saas-Grund to Kreuzboden and then onward to Hohsaas. This review covers only the first section to Kreuzboden, which we visited in summer.
The combination of activities, relative tranquillity and magnificent scenery makes the Kreuzboden area a wonderful place to spend the day. The views are simply spellbinding and the peaceful atmosphere was a welcome change from some of the cable cars and mountain attractions used by tourists en masse.
There are numerous hikes starting from Kreuzboden, but there is also plenty to keep children entertained: the distinctive Eringer cows, a petting zoo, a huge bright-red trampoline, a “wellness” trail around a small lake and plenty of marmots without all the hype.
There is also a mountain-bike course which seemed particularly popular with teenagers. For those who simply want to relax, the two restaurants offer lovely places to sit and take in the mountains all around.
