Lovely valley to hike just east of Goreme

点评：Rose Valley is one of several valleys just to the east of Goreme where you can hike through lunar like landscape with unique rock and land formations including the famous Fairy Chimneys of Cappadocia. You will see numerous carved rooms, old homes and churches some of which are very impressive. We particularly enjoyed the Cross (also called Crusader) Church.
You can walk through Rose Valley by way of taxi drop off at the main hot-air balloon launch spot or by foot from Goreme. There are numerous hiking trails through the valley, we completed a roughly 15km walk loop trail linking Rose with Red Valley while starting and ending our walk from the Goreme town centre. Hiking leisurely we spent just over 5 hours making our way through the two valleys on the day. There are several make-shift juice stands, particularly in Red Valley, where you can stop for a rest and orange and pomegranate juice break. They sell water as well if you need a top up during your hike.
On the whole, we really enjoyed our time spent in Rose Valley and would gladly hike this area of Cappadocia again next time we visit this area in Turkey.
