点评:I've wanted to go here since seeing a 1970's documentary about Hannah Hauxwell's solitary life on a remote farm - and the troubles she faced each winter. It didn't disappoint, in May when I visited there were many wild flowers around, and a lot of other wildlife... lapwings, hares, geese, curlews, and much more!
The farmhouse itself is privately owned but the path takes you past there. Parking is at Balderhead Reservoir and you can take the trail from there to Blackton reservoir and Low Birk Hatt farm, the path is clearly signposted. Then follow the lane uphill towards the main road and you'll come across the path to the barn on route. This is where I got told to leave by a couple of angry lapwings!! Note to self - maybe go outside of nesting season...
