点评:Tanji Fish Market is not far from the capital, so it’s worth driving down and soaking in the vibe of a real fish market—especially because fresh and smoked fish from here are shipped to many places around the world, such as Canada, Europe, and more.
Make sure to go down to the beach as well, where you can see the fishing nets, how they’re repaired, and what kinds of fish are there. One thing that was particularly interesting for me—and something I had never seen before—was the blue-clawed crab.
Then visit the fish smoking area, where you can even taste the fish. You should also check out the place where ice is bought and packed. There’s no entrance fee for any of this, since it’s a public market.
Afterwards, enjoy a nice lunch in Tanji, and don’t forget to visit the local museum after the fish market—the Tanji Village Museum, which is just across the road.
