点评:It was dry for the first 15 minutes - and also the last 15 minutes. But However for the intervening 2 hours it poured with rain! (even though not forecast!) but the production went ahead in full. Incredible performances, amazing imagery, stunts and spectacle. Unlike anything comparable in the world. We clung on along with 6000 others in their macs and waterproofs, wondering when they would call a halt and adjourn indoors (like they did in 2011 when we saw Giordano’s Andre-Chenier - well two thirds of it anyway.) But they didn’t. They ploughed on … or rather paddled on … regardless. It’s clearly designed and costumed for some rain and is a spectacular, re-imagined version of the opera and probably one of the most extravagant things we’ve ever seen. Entirely justified our journey from the UK. At least ( in normal years) we’re used to rain!
