Accommodation was very poor, outside town and endless taxi transfers spoil the day

点评：This is the second trip my wife and I have done with Contours. In 2023, we gave them feedback about very variable accommodation in the Cotswolds and having too many taxi transfers. They had a long time to prepare this trip for us along the Coastal Path in south Devon and the accommodation was worse and we had 3 taxi transfers at the end of our day's walk. These then mean you have to coordinate with a taxi firm and agree a pick up the following morning back to where you walked the previous day. These journeys were often 30 mins in the car after a day walking and then the same the next morning. Even when we were accommodated in the town where our walk finished, the B&B was invariably a long walk outside the town (eg one mile outside Darthmouth and Brixham - both B&B's were really poor locations for getting back into town). This means you have a long, not very nice walk there and back into town for the evening. Our accommodation was mostly of a very poor standard compared to the ££££ daily rate that we are paying Contours for organising our holiday. We had one amazing place (Hope & Anchor in Hope Cove) that was so much better than anywhere else we stayed.
