Kuiseb Delta Adventures -
A Must-Do in Walvis Bay (even for the locals, _especially_ for the locals)
We did the Kuiseb Delta Adventures quad tour with oom Fanie last year, and I still think about it. 🤌🏼
This wasn’t just a quad bike ride through the dunes; this was a guided journey through history, geology, culture, and the fragile beauty of the Kuiseb Delta. Oom Fanie, the owner, is truly one of a kind. 🥺🙌🏼 His passion for the environment, the stories hidden beneath the sand, and the incredible history of the delta is unmatched. He doesn’t just tell you facts - he brings the landscape to life. Our whole group was hanging on every word he said. You can see in the way he kneels down to show ancient tracks, or how he speaks about the delta’s creatures, that he carries decades of knowledge and love for this place.
The quad biking itself was safe, fun, and unbelievably freeing. Even on a cloudy day, the vast dunes felt magical - quiet, untouched, and almost surreal. And as someone who grew up in this area, I was shocked by how much I learned (or how much I DIDN’T know). It made me appreciate my own backyard in a completely new way.
Highly, highly recommended.
