点评:SWMBO decided that we need ginseng to combat the winter weather, so a trip to Qingping Medicine Market (TA reviewed) was called for. While we were in the area, she suggested we pop in to the Culture Park and look at the flower displays.
Note: Guangzhou Cultural Park is the location for the Guangzhou Thirteen Hongs Museum (TA reviewed)
Note: This attraction is Guangzhou Cultural Park and not Guangzhou Cultural and Arts Centre (TA reviewed) which is brand new, 100 times bigger, and doesn’t have a flower display.
Flower displays at this time of year, in sub-tropical Guangdong, are an annual event in many cities. Earlier this week, we visited, as the final stop of a two-day bus trip, Xiaolan Chrysanthemum Show. Xiaolan (TA reviewed) is a small industrial town about 50 km south of Guangzhou, but the park is very nice especially when there’s a flower show. Ye Gods, two flower shows in a week!
This afternoon the park was crowded but with a little patience you can get a nice shot of the displays without too many locals in the frame.
The park is free to enter and wheelchair friendly.
