A wonderful trip back in time
Lofotr Viking Museum的点评
点评：Visited as part of a cruise excursion, but I wanted to make sure that this location got the credit for the evening as it was - as far as I could tell - primarily led by them.
We had a short coach trip to the long house, along the way one of the staff gave us the history and context for the evening we were to have - a meal as part of a ceremony for the safe return of the sun.
The meal itself was delicious, and the ceremony and other entertainment during it was very well done and enjoyable. It feels both reverential to the subject matter while also not being intimidating or alienating.
After the delicious meal (and a dance around the fire) in the longhouse you can explore the rest of the museum and then exit through the gift shop.
On the coach trip on the way back the guide then provided some more information for the Lofoten islands in both a historical and contemporary context.
I cannot recommend this excursion or the museum enough - the staff are all lovely and the location is incredible. If you have the opportunity to visit you definitely should do so.
