The most magnificent hot springs trip
山甘烹温泉的点评
点评：We love onsens and hot springs and such things, and this is one of the best natural spas I have ever been to. We went as part of a private tour, so general entrance and parking was free; that you have to pay for the eggs you can boil yourself in the hot water (what fun!!!) is kind of obvious. And those reviewers who say that it's boring and how exciting can hot springs be... why come here to begin with?
These are sulphur springs, very nice water of different temperature. Many attractions are free, such as the geysers (which are a bit enhanced :-)) and the foot baths, but we added the thermal baths which are in a proper pool with roof so you can bathe during the day. Wonderful smooth water that is great for the skin and while there are private pools and rooms, we took the public big one as a bit of swimbathing is cool. We also bought some blue thermal salt soap at the booth and took it home, and it has been really great for the skin - wish we had taken more!
In short, a really fun, magnificent place near enough to Chiang Mai and perfect on the way to Mae Kampong. The thermal bath so good, relaxing and healthy that I would always come back just for that. And yes, onsens aren't everyone's cup of tea. But then, they do not have to be. We loved the place.
