点评:When I was working in Beijing in 1993-1995 I took a trip to Hammer Rock, which we called the Big Thumb. I see in extreme closeups in some of these reviews from 20 years later that there are short fences to provide a little safety from falling off to certain death. One reviewer said they didn’t think they were tall enough.
When I was there, there were no barriers at all and I agree these shown are totally inadequate. I tried to stay in the center of the narrow, rocky, surface but others with less fear were running around and scaring the crap out of me. I couldn’t wait to get down. Previously, I had not been afraid of heights but that all changed that day.
If you are at all frightened about being just a few feet away from falling hundreds of feet down with little in terms of rescue or medical care hours away, I’d encourage you to view the mountain from afar. (Please note the time of my visit is incorrect according to my only choices.)
