点评:We actually visited on 9/16,2024, but I’d forgotten to submit the review I’d written. In a nutshell, THIS IS A NOT TO BE MISSED TOUR. We had the most charming young man as our tour guide who literally beamed ear to ear when I told him I’d enjoyed our tour WTH him better than the tour we’d had 5 days earlier in Versailles.
It was a truly interesting experience and not one that can be replicated just any place on the globe. They limit the size of each group tour so that you do not feel rushed or overcrowded, which is a plus as you do go very subterranean and it can be dark and crowded. It is also ridiculously cold so you will truly appreciate the not to terribly attractive but very functional coveralls they insist all guests wear.
In spite of the coveralls, you may want to dress warmly as there is no heat below nor throughout the tour. When they say that closed toe shoes are a must, please listen. It is often wet and muddy along the path. The admission fee is not exorbitant, about $40 USD per ticket. If his price comes with guided tour and a self guided roam about through their small museum and gift shop.
There is also a small, underground boat tour portion that is slightly interactive as you sail past a mining camp at night and see how the workers operated beneath the surface of the mines. Very intriguing.
