点评:I’m local to the area and have visited Middleport Pottery many times, today I took advantage of flying solo and purchased a ticket for the heritage trail. Access all areas meant I saw parts of the site that I previously hadn’t. I loved wandering through the mold store checking out the different items, some had finished products by them which made the experience that little bit better. The bottle kiln was fascinating and for a bank holiday eerily quiet so I got to explore alone and take in its wonder.
I’ve visited the bath house before on an open day but I still find it an amazing piece of history and to think it was unearthed by the regeneration team, after they heard local tales of it’s existence makes it that little bit more special.
Today was my 1st look inside the Lodgekeepers House built in 1893, decked with original items from the 40’s it was a real treat. The stories from locals played out as I walked around gave the place a real homely feel.
Thank you Middleport/Reform. In the words of Arnie “I’ll be back”
