点评:Bawaka is a truly special experience. To be on Yolngu Country and welcomed by Timmy and Rita and their family was a warm and wonderful feeling. Our teenage children were lucky to be able to see part of Australia that opened their eyes to our shared history and the lives of our First people. We loved everything - going out to Lonely Beach; seeing Nike the Baru; sitting and weaving with Rita; painting shells; watching Timmy make traditional ceremony clap sticks; sleeping just up from the shore in a safari tent with waves lightly lapping in the moonlight as you go to sleep; laughing over a cuppa with others at the camp kitchen; walking along the beach to take in the beauty of Arnhem Land; watching James through a spear to fish (what a skill!); chatting with Binda; playing with the young ones; learning about Country and not to mention feeling in awe of the ARIA on the camp kitchen table. They were just some of our lovely experiences. The isolation and grounded feeling melted away all troubles. You don't want to miss Bawaka!
