点评:After watching Out of Africa in the 1980s (!), I had a vague understanding of Karen Blixen’s life. The train from central Copenhagen was easy and quick plus the walk through the grounds to the museum was lovely. Her former house is beautiful and tranquil. The views of the harbour and sea are great - although in Baroness Blixen’s time it was not as bustling. The extensive gardens and forest are a delight. The staff are friendly and are guardians of the museum. The latter is because they are ensuring that Karen’s former home is preserved and kept intact for future generations. As a fellow traveller, I loved seeing her heirlooms and prized possessions. The restaurant could do with more staff as the waitress was overwhelmed and fraught yesterday! Our lunch was delicious - particularly the lemon meringue. Be wary of the DK wasps, they are v determined, unlike their British counterparts.
