点评：Our tour bus brought us here at about 8 pm after our sumptuous buffet dinner at Raffles City Chongqing. As the bus cruised along the river bank, we were captivated and marvelled at the glittering and lustrous display of neon lights at this attraction. Everyone simultaneously uttered `wow', but following that stunning sight, we were all alarmed by the huge turnout of the crowd at the river promenade.
Hongya Cave (洪崖洞) an iconic tourist hotspot in Chongqing, is a must visit attraction in Chongqing. The mountainous city was historically the centre of the Bayu Culture (巴渝) for more than 3000 years. The stilted houses (吊脚楼) which were anchor against the steep mountain cliff, take advantage of the firm bearing force of cliffs to support the whole building, thus saving building materials and improving stability The wooden dwellings manifest the wisdom and creativity of the Bayu people and can be said to be a unique wonder in the world.
Maneurving around the crowd to take photos of the building was not easy. Our guide was worried that we stray too far away from the place where we alight and guided us to the best spot to take our photos and hurriedly led us back to take our coach back to the hotel. Before alighting from the bus, he had also warned us of a spate of recent petty theft of hand phones at this crowded attraction. Many of our group members preferred to stay in the coach to avoid any unnecessary risk. For that 10 minutes, I could feel the immersive atmosphere and the craziness of the crowd in trying to capture the night beauty of this attraction.
