Pukhraj Durry Udhyog的点评
点评：Pukhraj Durry Udhyog Homestay is an awesome place to experience rural Rajasthani village life especially if you are interested in weaving. I initially booked because I wanted to learn about their rug weaving technique, but it was much more than that. I stayed in a beautiful little hut (2 nights), visited other craftspeople in the area, went on a village walk, and on a jeep safari to see the endangered Blackbuck (Antelope).
The whole family were weavers and I was fortunate to be able to weave with the masters, Pukhraj ji and Dariya devi (the parents) who started the weaving cooperative in 1986. As a solo woman, I felt very safe and was welcomed into their family home. They were all very hospitable and kind, it was very peaceful. The home cooked meals were so delicious and different everyday. They are also eco conscious and have a water filter system so you don’t have to use plastic. They also have solar panels to help with electricity.
I fear that the traditional Dhurrie rug weaving in this area may be a dying craft. I wished I could have seen more weavers at work.
