点评:We came upon this coffee farm with little information about the farm. We were lucky enough to arrive at the time a tour was starting so we hopped into it. (Note: the tour cost $35 per person. In our opinion it was a steep price for the experience we got).
We learned about the farm’s inception and philosophy of quality over quantity. Their standards are very high and ultimately relies on one person, Laura, the roaster. When you buy a bag of coffee know she looked at every bean and its inspected for quality. They will not sell beans that have been infected by the beetle. Their trees are smaller and each produce about 1 pound at harvest. Their beans go through a rigorous process to ensure you are getting premium beans at a premium price.
The tour based on price could have been enhanced and focused on more on the trees, production or going to different parts of the farm. A good portion of the tour was highlighting the flowers on property. If this portion was removed it would only been a 15-20 min tour. The grounds are more wild and natural versus groomed.
Our tour guide was very sweet and we did enjoy her. Unfortunately, at the end of the tour there is not a sampling of their best sellers. But there is a free coffee when you walk onto the porch.
My advice is skip the high priced tour and just look at the surroundings. If the price of the tour was $15-20 or a tour price at $35 was credited if you purchased a pound of coffee… it would be worth it. (Like with wine tasting)
The highlight is Laura, the roaster. If she is there she is a wealth of knowledge. She shares her knowledge freely and we felt lucky to be able to speak with her.
