My Favorite Spot-Blackwater Falls
Blackwater Falls State Park的点评
点评：Blackwater Falls is one of my favorite spots in all of the world. Its pristine and takes me back to the "old style" State Parks of my youth. Lots of picnic spots and not very crowded. The Falls is spectacular. There is a trail (with many steps) down to the base of the falls. There is also a viewing area across the canyon that has a handicapped assessible walk-way and the falls is lovely from that vantage point as well. There is an old style trading post (with the usual tourist stuff) and a lodge (never stayed there) and lots of camping and hiking. This time on our visit we went out to Pendleton Point, Lindy Point and Elakala Falls.
Pendleton Point is an easy walk to a nice overlook. The hike to Elakala Falls is thru the woods with lots of exposed roots. You need sturdy shoes for this jaunt. Same for Lindy Point. The views are worth it...but I'd suggest caution if not properly attired and ready for a bit of exercise.
