点评:Lovely small animal park.
Particulularly good for those with smaller children, with some amazing wooden pirate ships and indoor play equipment.
This is a small zoo and could easily be done in a few hours. We spent a very lovely 3.5 hours there (in warmer weather would have happily spent longer!) And were able to see all the animals bar one very well hidden lizard.
Dont judge this park on the main building - it does sort of resemble something from a dystopian stranger things sciene experiment (its actually an old bbc radio building) . Its ugly and run down but clearly the staff are spending any money they have on the animals rather than the building exterior which makes a lot of sense!
But inside...wow. the first room you see (after the shop) is a wow room. A beautiful glass sky light floods light onto a large open room with all the reptiles and the show space. The noctural area was also done very well and the aquarium below (unsure if theres a lift?)
We listened to most of the talks which were great, Bodes story almost broke my heart and shows the staffs dedication to saving animals that they saved him even when the zoo couldnt afford it.
We had a wondeful afternoon here, we saw some animals we hadnt seen anywhere else (kinkajou, racoon dogs, genet) and i will be revisiting , not just for another wonderful visit but to support the great rescue work this place is doing.
