西递古民居的点评
点评：When we arrived here from Hungchu, there was a hotel name mixup. This mini Boutique Hotels chain under corporate name Passing Cloud Resort in English. But each location has its Chinese name for distinction. Here in Xidi Ancient Village , this hotel is named Ming-Ginn Garden.
The location could not be better. Fifteen steps next to its ancient Arches, and next to the gate to its village’s heart.
The narrow marble paved streets are hard on balance. So the hotel staff volunteered to push my 97 years old partner in wheelchair to see the village. And what a gem of village Xidi is.
The streets are lined with many handcrafted souvenir and unique local products. Store interiors are very very old fashioned. There are hundred years old family pavilions with exquisite wood carvings on pillars. Art majored students from nearby towns sat in groups at different locations to sketch the scenery. Hotel rooms are done in classic Chinese style but modern in comfort. Hotel outdoor swim pool looked like a lily pond. The outdoor lightings are alluring. This is a very romantic
