Bay of the Bones Museum的点评
点评:The Bay of Bones Museum or also called the Gulf of Bones Museum is located on the western side of Lake Ohrid.
This was a site that was discovered in 1997, and it is believed to be dated back to the Bronze and Iron Ages, thus making this site close to 3,000 years ago!
It is called the Bay of Bones as during the excavation of the site a large amount of animal bones were discovered on the site. Also, a large amount of pottery was also found below this site.
The walk down to the reconstructed settlement is quite steep and a bit difficult to descend.
So, once you arrive at the Archaeological Site you can tour inside of the huts which were built on stilts above the water. It was very interesting as simply the large amount of animal bones and pottery fragments found were all well preserved.
I personally feel that this is a very interesting site to visit as well as a beautiful natural habitat to view.
We arrived by bus, but there is also a ferry boat which departs the city of Ohrid.
All in all, I strongly suggest that one should not miss out on a visit to the Bay of Bones as it also shows how people lived thousands of years ago.
