Wonderful vineyard tour and wine tasting

点评：We planned a trip to Decugnano dei Barbi at the recommendation of family and the trip exceeded our expectations. The views from the estate are incredible. You can see Orvieto and the countryside with the vineyards spread out for miles in front of you. We visited during the slow season, but the vineyard was very active which made the tour really come to life.
Our tour guide, Angelica, was amazing! She helped with the planning of our visit, even providing a recommendation for round trip travel from the Orvieto train station. Angelica is very passionate about the history of the area and the vineyard itself and that passion came through during the whole tour. We enjoyed learning about the vineyard history, wine making process, and seeing the vineyard operations (the caves were a huge hit).
After our tour we went to the tasting room (an old Church) for our wine tasting. Angelica described the wine and made recommendations for food pairings to complement each wine. All of her recommendations were perfect and really enhanced the tasting experience.
We hope to make a return visit one day. In the meantime, we cannot wait for our Decugnano dei Barbi wine to be delivered to our home so we can enjoy a little bit of Umbrian magic in the US!
