Fantastic Time at Navan Centre & Fort

点评：Last Wednesday I visited Navan Centre & Fort for the first time, and it was a wonderful experience. My tour guides were Megan & Rosaleen; both of whom were very friendly & knowledgeable. The tour started with a brief rundown by Megan of how the site came to be. This was followed by a short film that gave a history of the place and the historical figures associated with it. We then walked the outside grounds, stopping at various points, where my guides gave me facts & theories about this land which is shrouded in mystery. Once we reached the actual fort, my guides allowed me to explore both grassy hilltops and surrounding area on my own. I was lucky to have a beautifully crisp & clear day, so my views were amazing. I could even see both of Armagh City’s historic Saint Patrick’s Cathedrals (which I visited earlier in the day) off in the distance. After that it was a short walk back to the Centre where I was encouraged to explore their nice museum & artifacts on display. When I was done, they graciously arranged a taxi ride back to Armagh City for me (which is only a short ride away). I had a great time and would highly recommend anyone visit if you’re ever in the area; particularly if you have a keen interest in Irish History like I do. You can feel the vast amount of history (and mystery) associated with Navan Fort when you’re on the grounds. And a special thanks to my fantastic tour guides Megan & Rosaleen for clearly explaining all that is known (& unknown), and for answering my many questions about this intriguing site.
