Three floors of interesting exhibits
Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic的点评
点评：We visited on the first day they were open for the summer (May 23). We spent 2-3 hours, but got tired before we saw all of the museum.
It is important to note that there are three floors, all of which are fully wheelchair accessible. There are some special presentations during the day, so check the schedule on your way in to be sure you don't miss one you might be interested in. We listened to the presentation about the Bluenose and learned a lot, including how the Bluenose (the "sailboat" on the Canadian dime) was connected to the fishing industry.
The first floor is primarily about marine life and the fishing industry. The second floor has models that illustrate the fishing methods used in the industry through the ages as well as a memorial to local fishermen lost at sea. There is also a nice restaurant on the second floor. The third floor has displays about the Bluenose and models of many schooners (sailing ships with 2 or more masts that are fore and aft rigged).
There were sayings about maritime weather predictions as well as "fish facts" posted throughout the museum that I found very interesting. Some of the weather sayings I knew, but some were new to me.
