点评:Staying at a local bed and breakfast, we didn’t need to use the car today - it was a 10 minute walk to Fort Anne National Historic Site, the first such site in Canada. We were able to use our Discovery Pass, saving us a further CA$ 8.00 (senior rate). We spent quite some time in the small museum, showing us about the development of the fort and describing all the conflict in the region over the occupancy of the area. There was a most stunning tapestry in four sections which had been produced as a collaboration with many different people, most notably the Queen. We had our morning refreshments in the traditional way, sitting in the red Adironack chairs appreciating the sumptuous view over the water (no cafe on site so bring your own drinks and snacks). We also walked the ramparts and had a look inside the gunpowder store before we had completed our self-guided tour. We spend about 2.5 hours there and it was a very worthwhile visit.
