Chicago's most prestigious shopping street

点评：Visitors to Chicago often shop on the Magnificent Mile, or North Michigan Avenue from the Chicago River to Oak Street, but the city's most prestigious shopping street is Oak Street, a short street in Chicago's Gold Coast neighborhood that is adjacent to North Michigan Avenue. Running between North Michigan Avenue and State Street, Oak Street is home to the highest concentration of international couture houses, American luxury brands, fashion brands, jewelry stores and local boutiques. The narrow avenue, with trees lining both sides of the long block, offers a very intimate setting. When my wife and I moved to our current address in 1983, we purchased a large painting at an Oak Street art gallery to fill one wall in our living room. Recently, my wife purchased a ring to replace a lost ring at an Oak Street jewelry store. Oak Street also designates the surrounding area including Rush Street and Walton Street as Chicago's upscale retail district. Among the luxury brands to be found along Oak Street are Buccellati, Brilliant Earth, Brunello Cucinelli, Calypso St. Barth, Carolina Herrera, Chanel, Christofle, Giorgio Armani, Escada, Furla, Dior, Georg Jensen, Hermes, Harry Winston, Jimmy Choo, Cole & Gabbana, Christian Louboutin, George Greene, Graff Diamonds, Le Labo, Loro Piana, Paul Stuart, Prada, Saint Laurent, Ted Baker, Tom Ford, Van Cleef and Arpels, Versace, Vera Wang and Wolford.
