We were literally 1 minute late, because of traffic. What they are doing is overselling tickets and eating up tickets that are reserved and then collecting the $20 reservation fees on top of, regardless if they honor your reservation or not. We also paid in full prior, so now they're going to charge us the regular rates, instead of the fare saver price we initially paid for.
This is scummy practice at best and they do it because they have a monopoly on travel. They claim they base their clocks on maritime clocks, which is fine and dandy for actual sea travel, but everyone else is apparently on some different time on their phones, which are connected to satellites.
Oh and let's not forget that BC Ferries rarely honors their own timelines, but it only applies to passengers somehow. Don't even get me started on how they don't keep up the maintenance of their boats properly and constantly cancel sailings without warning.
