Our snorkelers and teens loved KK's boat tours of the area around Half Sound Bay and Winding Bay

点评：I very highly recommend Eleuthera Oudooor Center. My boat tours with KK were without question highlights of my week on Eleuthera.
I went on two tours with KK in the same week with different friends--that's how much I enjoyed them. We were families with teens and tweens. We snorkeled, swam with turtles, swam with pigs, and ate a freshly prepared ceviche. It was KK, our captain, who made this tour especially enjoyable.
From an organization and planning perspective, in all my exchanges with KK before a tour, he was professional, polite, and responsive. He also was flexible to our group's needs and even helped us arrange transportation to the airport, where we need to go straight after our second tour.
During the tour he really made us feel like it was important to him that we be enjoying ourselves. He shared generously his knowledge of the island. His sunny relaxed manner was infectious. We left the tour really feeling the relaxed island vibe in the very best way.
The boat was clean and well equipped with snorkels and masks (which we had requested ahead of time to have available for our tour). There were also plenty of local soft drinks and water.
On my first tour with him, which I went on with some friends, he was accompanied by Aretha, who was an expert on the island's flora and sea life. The highlight for me were were without question the several beautiful snorkeling spots he brought us to, coupled with information KK and Aretha provided us about what we were seeing around us.
The kids enjoyed the turtle sanctuary we visited, which is really just a simple enclosed area of water where a few injured turtles have the chance to heal back to health without fear of predators. On our visit to the sanctuary were wer able to get closer to a turtle than we otherwise would.
The kids also enjoyed feeding and swimming with the pigs, which I could have skipped, but the kids may disagree with me. The pigs are not wild, since there are none on the island of Eleuthera, but they are a nod to the wild pigs that are on some Bahaman islands. KK is honest and up-front about this, which helps to create trust. The pigs were cute and friendly.
I loved ending the tour with a delicious ceviche that KK prepares right before our eyes, with fresh-from-the-sea conch.
After the first tour, everyone reported back so enthusiastically about it to the other people vacationing with us, that the people who didn't make it the first time decided to book a separate tour with KK. I happliy joined them.
We did the same tour as the first time, but snorkeled in some different spots. Really both snorkeling spots were so beautiful that I could not say which I preferred. Mainly, I am happy that KK mixed things up so I could see new places. But I'm also happy he kept enough of the tour the same, so that the other people in our group got to have many of the same experiences that we had on our first tour. On our second tour, KK was joined by Keenan, a student at the Island School, which is a a specialized high school that offers a program dedicated to sustainability and water conservation.
