Some very good science demonstrators and important historical telescopes
The Observatory Science Centre的点评
点评:We went on a fine bank holiday Monday with family. We spent much of the day exploring the outside exhibits, of which there are many, and those inside. We attended all the talks and presentations and both adults and children appreciated and benefitted from coming here. You need to do everything to get value for your admission fee.
I had been here back in 1969 when it was an actual observatory (with a school group), and had a bit more background than most. As a scientist I would have liked more information boards about the historical telescopes at the site. For example, the lunar display and exhibit is in one of the telescope domes, but we learn little about the wonderful instrument that is above our heads! More, more information for informed adults please.
The family liked the floating granite sphere in the garden best. Just spinning a huge stone with the touch of a finger fascinated them. We would have liked more dietary information available in the cafe and as a result decided to eat elsewhere.
