Taimushan - A Must-Go Destination in Ningde
太姥山风景区的点评
点评：A very wonderful trip for me to Taimushan in Dec 2023 when I took a few days off from my business trip to hike alone. The weather was nice for me, about 15 degrees Celsius with very mild wind. It wasn't crowded. The journey started from Ningde where I was staying for about 5 days. The train from Ningde to Taimushan is about 1h with a mini-bus for RMB6, 10 min ride to the Taimushan entrance. RMB140 entrance ticket (RMB90 if your birthday year is 60) and it is totally worth the money (especially if one is paying RMB90). The ticket includes a complementary short bus ride from the entrance to the base of the mountain.
What is nice about Taimushan is the beautiful giant rock formations and interesting trails through the rocks. There are trails that can be tight, mostly good enough to track but challenging enough that I wish I had gloves and maybe a safety helmet. One can choose some easy paths or take the more challenging trails. It took me 4.5h with sufficient short rests to cover the park. I started the trails at 10 am. Someone said that he/she covered the park in 2h. I think this is tight but this is the time given by a tour guide to his group when I was there. I'm sure I'll return to this park again within 2 years.
