点评:My family and I stopped here during our family vacation to Spring Valley, MN. We had toured the Niagara Cave the day before and were recommended to stop by Mystery Cave as it was supposedly a very beautiful must see cave. My family and I would agree, the cave itself is in fact jaw dropping. Our tour guide, Karin, however was not one to remember fondly. She was belittling with her knowledge and not entirely kindhearted. There is a section of the cave known as the Formation Room, of which has about 10 steps up to enter it. Once finishing her facts Karin led the group out, (note: our group was roughly 18 people some of which have special needs), our family likes to stay near the back of the group to take photos without people in them. As we patiently allotted the special needs persons to take the stairs down, they required a bit of extra time, say 2-3 minutes. the winding walkway to get back to the main trail and catch up with the group i would say was roughly 200-300 steps through many ramps up and down over slippery grates, winding turns sharp and minimal. As we all finally stepped off the stair case the group and tour guide Karin were no longer in view. As we began to walk we heard a click and the cave went dark. Karin had shut the lights off on us. all 7 of us that were left behind froze as we couldn’t see a single thing, it was pitch black. We yelled for a minute before a phone light was flashed on by a family member allowing us all to see just enough to manuver our way back to the lighted pathways and join the group. When mentioned to Karin that she had left us in the dark, she simply remarked “keep up with the group” and moved on. No apology, no sense of remorse or concern about any of us possibly being hurt. The cave is beautiful, I’d recommend stopping to see it, i’d simply request to no have Karin as a tour guide, or request she has sensitivity training and learns to be more aware of the persons in her tour group.
