Crystal clear cool waters worth the walk

点评：What an experience! After spending 8 days touring Sicily on our last but one day we decided to head here and it did not disappoint.
We were very lucky with unseasonably good weather which wasn’t too hot making the walk/hike/scramble a little easier.
Getting there - Apple Maps took us to the wrong location on the first attempt after search on the map we pinned the ‘Cava Grande’ restaurant which was also the car park for the walk. The drive up the mountain is very winding but the views from the top are epic.
The Walk - we paid €2 each for entry which starts as a nice set of stairs down to the ravine, it quickly morphs into some very steep very worn stairs and tracks down for 2.5km. We are used to walking and it took us 55min to get to a suitable bathing spot and into the water. I would advise decent footwear for the walk. The climb back up took the same amount of time as it was easier to get the feet placement right.
The water - well worth the descent. The water was cold and refreshing which was perfect at the end of what turned out to be a bit of a sweaty walk. The pools are crystal clear and very inviting. We swam with the fish for about 30 min.
Be careful getting in and out of the water the rocks surrounding the pools are very slippery!
