点评：I first contacted Mary in January to reserve two spaces on her May 22 tour. In April, a friend living in Ireland decided to join us, and Mary was able to add her to our group. On the day of the tour, our breakfast ran long and our cab got struck in traffic. I was panicked that the bus would have to leave without us. It turns out Mary emailed me when she saw our group of three was missing, and from her contact, I was able to call and let her know we were minutes away! I'm so grateful she waited for us. Mary said calling her made all the difference. Whew!
Martin, her brother, was our guide for the day. We found Martin's commentary to be educational, enlightening and entertaining. We were impressed with his background in archeology, and his clarity in explaining the intricate history of Ireland. Martin was responsive to questions, and made history relatable to present day situations.
The on-site guides were wonderful as well. Going into the Newgrange passageway and chamber was a poignant experience. Knowth was extremely interesting, and the Hill of Tara was beautiful. We learned so much!
Weather-wise we had an absolutely gorgeous day, which paired with the exceptional tour we received. The Hill of Tara, Knowth, and Newgrange are not to be missed. We loved it!
