Unbelievable turtle experience

点评：This stay was specifically to view turtles which none of expected to see as we were out of season. However.....we were extremely fortunate! Each evening after dinner, you sit outside the hotel in the complete dark whilst conservation experts assess the shore for activity, then return to bus us all to where its happening using IR light to avoid disturbing the turtles. It was so exciting following silently in the torchlight, stumbling into holes which turned out to be false nests to confuse would-be predators! Then we saw such a huge female busily digging a deep nest then watched her return exhausted, under the cover of darkness, into the sea (they take around 45 minutes to dig each nest). This was so special - we all felt so lucky to have seen this lovely 20kg green turtle (they are HUGE).
The hotel was ok for a night. The food was good but the rooms did not have much daylight - it could be to reduce light pollution.
