Avoid the place for breakfast!

点评：Really shocked at just how bad my breakfast was. I’ve been to various Tiptree Tearooms for afternoon tea, cake & sandwiches and been quite happy with the quality of the food, so we thought we’d stop off for a hot breakfast before a day of walking. I ordered the scrambled eggs & smoked salmon. Every element of my breakfast was bad ie. The smoked salmon smelled overly fishy and was very poor quality with the dark fat line showing through, the eggs were so hard and rubbery as to be inedible, the toast was stale and covered with cheap margarine. They need to warn people that they do not use butter, then, at least, they would have a chance to ask to leave it dry. It is advertised as coming with a wedge of lemon, there was no sign of this. However, they did bring a wedge when I requested. I foolishly asked for some cracked black pepper, no chance of getting that! I managed to get most of the salmon down by smothering in lemon, but regretted this later as had to stop my car on the way home to bring it back up. I left the rest of the food. I think I will give this place a miss in future and threw the rest of my gift card in the bin.
