点评:Along with all the other visitors on the day our feelings were “what on earth is the National Trust doing”. After abandoning a superb example of a medieval merchant’s house in the middle of a UNESCO World Heritage walled town for over 3 years they have now decided to open a 2nd hand bookshop! 🤷🏽♂️ on the ground floor. It is obviously not thriving - not many books and fewer customers! The shop is staffed by 3 people - 2 NT and one freelance consultant employed to ‘engage the community’ 🙄- none of which had any clue at all about the history of the building - past or recent. They had no knowledge about the Telford bridge fast approaching it’s 200th anniversary and looking decidedly neglected and in need of maintenance or the charming little toll house which has been locked up for 4 years and is destined to be a holiday let. We are appalled. The NT has completely lost the plot.
