点评:Located on BLM land, the trail to the falls is a little rocky in places and climbs uphill about 1/2 mile to the water. There are benches along the way where you can stop and rest or just enjoy the view overlooking Great Sand Dunes and the surrounding mountains. In order to see the entire falls be prepared to get your feet wet, and a hiking pole is helpful to maneuver the rocks. If you walk up the stream into the slot canyon you will be amazed at the double falls there. If you don’t want to get wet, you still have a view of some smaller falls outside if the slot canyon. We had the area to ourselves when we went early in the morning. When we walked back down we met many people making the climb. And the parking lot was full. There is a picnic area and also restrooms (no water) at the trailhead.
