Not a good zoo: expensive, $20 parking, ugly landscaping, uncreative and unkept exhibits, many animals not on display

点评：I've been to many zoos in the U.S. and almost all are better than this one, especially in larger cities. It was very unimpressive for the epicenter of Canada.
I used a reciprocal zoo 50% discount. Unfortunately, since one can't buy tickets with the reciprocal discount online, the discount is actually much less than 50% because one has to go in person and pay the inflated gate prices $40/adult) as opposed to the discounted online prices ($33/adult). The prices also do not include HST. In addition, they had just one person processing ticket sales at the gate, so there was a long line to purchase tickets. The $20 parking is pretty unavoidable as there is nothing around where someone could park cheaper and walk. There was no discount for parking.
Many of the outdoor exhibits are unkept. They have weeds growing high and do not pull them, so animals are difficult to see.
We walked 6 miles and wondered where all of the animals were. We found navigating the zoo to be fairly confusing, with their not being signs when we needed them.
The landscaping in general was the ugliest I have seen in a zoo. It is not manicured or kept well. Nothing is labeled. There are few exotic plants.
Take for example, the Cleveland Zoo, which has creative and attractive animal displays and exhibits. On a summer day there are at least 4 people selling tickets at the gate. The have beautiful landscaping with flowers, exotic plants, and local plants. Parking is free for everyone. Tickets are much cheaper and do not change pricing depending on the day. The cheaper prices are also inclusive of tax. It is a much better zoo in every respect, and most others are too, maybe with the exception of the Pittsburgh Zoo.
