If you are traveling here hoping to walk where Megan Follows, Colleen Dewhurst, and Richard Farnsworth filmed the iconic Anne of Green Gables movie, do not be fooled.
Zero filming happened here. The entire movie was actually filmed over 1,000 miles away in Ontario (at sites like Pickering and Uxbridge).
* What it actually is: This is a 19th-century farmhouse that inspired the author when she wrote the original 1908 book. Parks Canada has decorated it to look like the descriptions in the novel, not the movie sets.
Although the heritage site was beautiful and contained a lot of information about the Author, I felt mislead by the marketing regarding what this place actually was. They need to rebrand the title into "Literary inspiration for Anne of Green Gables" instead, so visitors don't feel conned, mislead, or receive misleading historical information.
