The safaris are part of his diversification strategy, which has had incredible impact on the ecology of his farm, which primarily produces high-grade meadow grass hay.
The tour on his ATV and trailer is great for all ages. He stops to show wildlife signs, explains ancient plant remedies, and forages in the hedgerows. The most striking thing is the contrast between the biodiversity of the grasslands of Gary's farm and the green deserts (in terms of wildlife) of his neighbour's massive fields of wheat, barley and oats.
A great way to spend a couple of hours - just be prepared to help wrangle the sheep as you go through the gates on the tour!!
