点评：If you’re visiting Banff, the Banff Gondola up Sulphur Mountain is an absolute must-do — easily our favourite experience of the trip!
We arrived right when it opened and bought tickets on-site (you can also book in advance and bundle it with the buffet at Northern Lights Alpine Kitchen). There was barely any wait, and we lucked out with a gondola to ourselves — just the two of us in a 4-person cabin. The ride up was smooth, comfortable, and surprisingly not cold, with incredible views the entire way.
At the summit, the experience goes far beyond just the gondola ride. The main building spans four levels, plus an outdoor deck wrapping all the way around — and every level offers something different:
Level 1 has a gift shop and café.
Level 2 features a small theatre, local artists, an interpretive centre, craft activities, and even free device charging stations (such a nice touch).
Level 3 is home to Northern Lights Alpine Kitchen and Sky Bistro (closed during our visit).
Level 4 was a highlight — blankets you can borrow, a stunning 360° observation deck, fire pits where you can roast marshmallows, a transparent dome, and fun interactive elements like a floral photo station.
But the real standout? The boardwalk to the historic summit and radio tower. Don’t skip this! It only took us about 20–30 minutes round trip, and the views are absolutely breathtaking — some of the best we’ve ever seen.
Tickets were $163.80 for two adults, and honestly, it was worth every penny. Between the views, the facilities, and the overall experience, it exceeded our expectations. Staff were friendly, organized, and helpful throughout.
If you’re on the fence — just do it. This is one of those unforgettable Banff experiences you’ll be talking about long after your trip.
