点评：It is very easy to reach the trailhead by taking local bus number 1 from downtown Banff. The fare is CAD 2.50 for a single ride or CAD 5 for a day pass. The trailhead is at the second-to-last stop, the same one used for the hot springs, where you can relax after your ascent and descent.
The trail is of moderate difficulty. The distance to the upper gondola station is about 5.5 km on a wide forest path, with an elevation gain of approximately 650 meters. At a steady pace, it takes around 2 hours or less. Alternatively, you can take the gondola, but in good weather, hiking up is very rewarding thanks to the beautiful views.
The scenery is stunning. There is also a less-traveled trail starting from the historic Cave and Basin parking lot.
At the top, you will find restaurants, a coffee shop, and a gift shop, as well as a small cinema showing a short film about the area. From there, you can continue along wooden boardwalks to additional viewpoints, as well as to the meteorological station and the cosmic ray station.
Please note that the gondola ride down is no longer free; it costs about half the price of a full ticket. A general ticket costs approximately CAD 90.
