Afternoon Tea was no afternoon delight..
Champneys Henlow Spa的点评
点评：Booked for a special birthday treat. What’s not to like about an afternoon tea, peaceful and tranquil surroundings and good company, a fantastic way to spend some quality time celebrating an occasion.
Well, this was not like any afternoon tea we have experienced before. Ok, we have previously been to the ritz and Luton hoo, so expected good things from Champneys, as it has always had a fantastic local reputation.
Let’s start with the crockery, simple bog standard crockery you see in a cheap cafe or budget hotel chain.
Not a good start.
Out comes the food tower.
Well, can only say was disappointing on first appearance.
Started with the sandwiches.. soggy, cheap retail sliced bread, erratic fillings (one filled with salon the other no salmon) and freezing cold.
Simply just lost our appetite.
Onto the scones. We had a guess they were from a supermarket pack, jam was a solid jelly although the clotted cream in a hearty serving was the saviour here.
Went for the breakfast tea, actually a decent brew.
We didn’t have the heart to get onto the top tier cakes, mini Victoria sponges once again looked like bog standard shop brought fodder.
Brought the brownies home, pretty standard from a multipack, at a guess.
For the environment and class of venue you’d expect far better quality. Venue was looking tired and drapes haven’t been washed for god knows how long.
On leaving, we were asked about the experience. Explained our thoughts and had an apology and a refund given without even asking.
Hopefully they take on board the feedback given.

最后是司康饼。我们猜它们是超市买的，果酱是硬硬的果冻，不过一份丰盛的烤饼里加了凝固奶油，真是救星。
去喝了早餐茶，茶饮还不错。
我们没心思吃顶层蛋糕，迷你维多利亚海绵蛋糕看起来又像普通商店里买的饲料。
布朗尼蛋糕带回家了，估计是多件装的标准配置。
就这种环境和档次的场地而言，品质应该会更好。场地看起来很破旧，窗帘也不知道多久没洗了。
离开时，他们问了我们这次体验如何。我们解释了想法，他们主动道歉，甚至都没开口就退款了。
希望他们能采纳大家的反馈。
