点评:Beautiful old town in the south of Germany on the Austrian border.
We visited in February as my son wanted to visit Neuschwanstein Castle in the winter months. It certainly delivered that picturesque look with deep snow all around. The other positive of visiting during the winter months is the crowds are minimal. The downside is that alot of the town is closed, the other museums within Fussen itself have limited days and hours open ie weekends for afternoons only. The cable car and sledging were however open and great. The majority of restaurants are also closed or short hours so if you see one you'd like to eat at check the hours as we went back to one in the evening to find it closed.
Personally I think in the winter you could train down from Munich on one day stay overnight and visit both castles in a day and see most of the town if you plan and get your tickets online ahead of time. You could either then take a late train back or stay another night and have a more leisurely look around the old town (it's not very big so easy done).
In the summer there are much more options, there are plenty of lovely looking walks and I'm sure the night life as it is would be much better.
